Two men are dead and at least six people were wounded since Friday night in shootings across the city.

A man was shot and killed early Saturday in the South Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.

Police responding to a call of a person shot about 2:55 a.m. found the 23-year-old man unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 3800 block of West 26th Street, police said. The man suffered a gunshot wound underneath his chin.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:10 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. The man’s name was withheld early Saturday pending notification of his family.

About two hours earlier, four people were wounded and one man was killed in a shooting in a bar on the South Side.

The five people were shot about 12:52 a.m. while they were attending a party inside Rudy’s Lounge in the 5100 block of South Union Avenue, police said. An argument broke out between party-goers and two uninvited males, and after the males were escorted from the bar by security, shots were fired from the bar’s doorway.

A 35-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the head and was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead at 1:38 a.m., according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. His name was withheld early Saturday pending notification of his family.

Also, a 37-year-old man was shot in the neck and a 40-year-old man suffered a graze wound to the head, police said. Both men were taken to Stroger Hospital, where they were both listed in “stable” condition.

A woman, 34, suffered a graze wound to the neck in the shooting and took herself to Provident Hospital of Cook County, police said. She was later transferred to Stroger Hospital and listed in “stable” condition.

A 37-year-old man also drove himself to Provident Hospital with a graze wound to the arm, police said. As of 5 a.m., he had been treated and released.

The most recent non-fatal shooting occurred about 4:45 a.m. Saturday in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side.

A female, whose age was not immediately known, was sitting in a car in the 1700 block of North Whipple Street about 4:45 a.m. when she was shot in the right arm and abdomen, police said.

She was treated at Stroger Hospital where she was listed in “stable” condition, police said. It was not immediately known if she drove herself to the hospital.

About 1:50 a.m. Saturday, a 24-year-old man walked into a suburban hospital after he was shot in the Austin neighborhood.

The man was outside in the 5700 block of West Washington Boulevard when he heard shots and felt pain, police said. The man suffered a gunshot wound to his left flank, the area directly underneath the armpit.

He walked in to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park where he was listed in “stable” condition, police said.

No one is in custody for any of the shootings as area detectives investigate.
