Metra cancels 2 morning rush hour trains

Metra canceled service for two trains serving the west and northwest suburbs Friday morning, officials said.
Train No. 624 on the Union Pacific Northwest Line, scheduled to depart from Crystal Lake at 7 a.m. for the Ogilvie Transportation Center, was canceled because of “ongoing mechanical problems,” according to Metra’s website.
Mechanical problems also canceled BNSF Railway Train No. 1201, scheduled to depart Chicago at 5:55 a.m., according to Metra.
Additionally, Train No. 13 on the Union Pacific West Line, which serves to west and far west suburbs, was originally scheduled to depart Ogilvie at 5:53 a.m. was delayed and operated express to West Chicago, according to Metra.
