Two women have been robbed in separate home invasions on the city’s Northwest Side since Friday.
The first incident occurred about 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 5200 block of North Mobile Avenue in the Jefferson Park neighborhood, police said.
A 40-year-old woman told police she heard knocking on her front door, and when she opened it, an armed man forced his way inside. He fled with jewelry, electronics and a cellphone, police said. No injuries were reported.
The second home invasion happened about 7:10 p.m. Monday in the 3700 block of North Oconto Avenue in the Dunning neighborhood, police said.
A 67-year-old woman heard a knock, and two men forced their way in when she opened her door, police said. One of them was armed, and he hit the woman in the face during the robbery, police said.
The suspects fled with cash and jewelry, police said. The woman refused emergency medical attention after the robbery.
It was not clear whether the two incidents were related, police said.
