HOBART, Ind. — Two people were injured in a fiery, three-truck crash early Tuesday that has closed northbound Interstate 65 near Hobart in Northwest Indiana.
The three semis crashed while northbound on Interstate 65 near Ridge Road about 3:30 a.m., Indiana State Police said. Two drivers were taken to an area hospital, but details about their injuries and conditions was not immediately available.
About an hour and a half later, while fire crews were still clearing the crash, one of the trucks burst in to flames, police said. A second truck caught fire awhile later.
Some traffic was getting past the crash scene using a single lane of traffic as of 8 a.m. All lanes on the interstate were blocked for about four hours. It wasn’t clear how long the lane closures would be in place.
