THE SUN-TIMES SPORTS COLLECTIBLE CONVENTION SWEEPSTAKES
1. HOW TO ENTER. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN A PRIZE. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. The Sun-Times Sports Collectible Convention Sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") begins October 25, 2007 and ends November 5, 2007 (the "Sweepstakes Period"). Enter the Sweepstakes by completely filling out an official entry form found in the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper during the Sweepstakes Period and mailing it to Sports Collectible Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 3385, Chicago, IL 60654. You may also enter by writing your first and last name, address, home and work telephone numbers, and the athlete autograph prize for which you would like your entry to be eligible (Jim Thome, Frank Thomas, Tom Glavine, Dick Butkus, or Gale Sayers) on a piece of paper or postcard and mailing it to the address set forth above. Those who do not fill in all the required fields or provide all the required information will be disqualified. You may enter as often as you like, but only one (1) athlete may be specified in each entry or the entry will not be accepted and will be void. All entries become property of the Chicago Sun-Times LLC ("Sponsor") and will not be returned. Entries that are forged, altered, or mechanically reproduced will not be accepted and will be void. All entry forms must be obtained legitimately. Sponsor's liability for any irregular entry form shall be limited to replacement of another entry form. Entries must be postmarked on or before November 5, 2007 and received no later than November 10, 2007. Copies of the Chicago Sun-Times are available at the Chicago Public Library for inspection. Prize winners will be required to travel to the Donald E. Stephen Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois (the "Convention Center") on November 17, 2007 or November 18, 2007 at their own expense, at the times specified below, in order to receive the prize won.
2. ELIGIBILITY: The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Iowa aged eighteen (18) years or older, except employees of the Sponsor, Sports News Productions, Inc., and their respective parents and affiliated companies, advertising agencies, and promotional partners, and relatives of and those living in the same household as such employees. For the purpose of this Sweepstakes, relatives are defined as spouse, mother, father, in-laws, grandmother, grandfather, brother, sister, children and grandchildren. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited.
3. SELECTION OF WINNERS/ODDS: On or about November 12, 2007, Sponsor or its designated judges (whose decisions are final) will conduct random drawings to determine the winner for each of the five (5) prizes. Odds of winning a particular athlete autograph prize depend on the number of eligible entries received selecting that athlete autograph prize. In the event that no entrants have selected a particular athlete autograph prize on his/her entry, then that athlete autograph prize will not be awarded. In the event that an individual is selected as a winner for more than one athlete autograph prize, and awarding the multiple prizes is not possible because the athletes selected by the winner in his/her winning entries are signing autographs at the same time or in close proximity (as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion), then only the first athlete autograph prize for which that individual was selected as a winner will be awarded to that winner. The winners will be notified that they may have won a prize in this Sweepstakes by telephone on or about November 13, 2007. If a winner cannot be reached after a reasonable attempt has been made by Sponsor (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), such winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected. Each winner's name may be published in the Chicago Sun-Times newspaper.
4. PRIZES: There will be five (5) prizes offered in this Sweepstakes. Each prize will include the following: two (2) adult admissions to the Chicago Sun-Times Sports Collectible Convention ("Convention") at the Convention Center on November 17 or 18, 2007; one (1) official NFL football (for Butkus or Sayers) or MLB baseball (for Thome, Thomas and Glavine) to be autographed by the athlete selected by the winner in his/her winning entry; and the opportunity to be first in line to have his/her football or baseball autographed by the athlete selected by the winner in his/her winning entry. Approximate retail value ("ARV") of prize including Jim Thome or Frank Thomas autograph: $129.00; ARV of prize including Tom Glavine autograph: $109; ARV of prize including Dick Butkus autograph: $168.00; Gale Sayers autograph: $138.00. Total ARV of all prizes offered in this Sweepstakes: $673.00. Please note that the prize includes having only the one (1) official NFL football or MLB baseball provided autographed by the athlete selected by the winner in his/her winning entry. The winner will have to pay and may be required to wait in line to have any other item autographed. Regardless of the number of athlete autograph prizes an individual is selected as a winner of, that individual will receive only two (2) adult admissions to the Convention.
Each winner will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release prior to entering the Convention Center or the prize will be forfeited. In addition, in order to take advantage of the opportunity to be first in line to have a football autographed by the athlete selected by the winner in his/her winning entry, winners must arrive at the Convention Center at least thirty (30) minutes prior to the start time listed below (which is subject to change) for the athlete selected by the winner in his/her winning entry:

All prizes legitimately claimed will be awarded. All federal, state and local taxes, as well as any other expenses not specified in these official rules (including, without limitation, transportation costs for the winner to get to/from the Convention Center, admission costs for any guests accompanying the winner to the Convention, and costs to get any item autographed other than the football that is part of the prize) are the sole responsibility of each winner. No transfers, prize substitutions or cash redemptions will be made, except at Sponsor's sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the stated prize with another prize of equal of greater value should the stated prize become unavailable for any reason (including, without limitation, in the event an athlete becomes unavailable to attend the Convention). No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded.
By entering this Sweepstakes and accepting a prize, each winner agrees to maintain his/her behavior in accordance with all applicable laws and generally accepted social practices in connection with participation in any Sweepstakes activity, including attendance at the Convention. Each winner understands and agrees that Sponsor has the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify and remove the winner from any activity at any time if the winner's behavior at any point is disruptive or may or does cause damage to person, property or the reputation of Sponsor or otherwise violates the policies of the prize providers.
5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: EACH PARTICIPANT AGREES TO RELEASE, HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY SPONSOR, SPORTS NEWS PRODUCTIONS, INC., AND THEIR RESPECTIVE PARENTS, DIVISIONS, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, ADVERTISING, PROMOTION, AND PUBLIC RELATIONS AGENCIES, AND THE RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, REPRESENTATIVES AND AGENCIES OF EACH FOR ANY LIABILITY WHATSOEVER FOR INJURIES OR DAMAGES OF ANY KIND SUSTAINED IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE, ACCEPTANCE, POSSESSION, USE, MISUSE OR AWARDING OF THE PRIZE OR WHILE PREPARING FOR, PARTICIPATING IN AND/OR TRAVELING TO OR FROM ANY PRIZE- OR SWEEPSTAKES-RELATED ACTIVITY, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY INJURY, DAMAGE, DEATH, LOSS, OR ACCIDENT TO PERSON OR PROPERTY. WINNER AGREES THAT THE PRIZE IS PROVIDED AS-IS WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY, REPRESENTATION, OR GUARANTEE, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, IN FACT OR IN LAW, WHETHER NOW KNOWN OR HEREINAFTER ENACTED, RELATIVE TO THE USE OR ENJOYMENT OF THE PRIZE, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ITS QUALITY, MERCHANTABILITY, OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
6. ADDITIONAL DISCLAIMERS: Sponsor is not responsible and/or liable for any of the following, whether caused by Sponsor, the entrant, or by human error: any lost, late, incomplete, illegible, mutilated, misdirected or postage-due mail; technical or mechanical malfunctions; or errors, typos or misprints in these official rules, entry forms, in any Sweepstakes-related advertisements or other materials.
7. GENERAL RULES: By entering the Sweepstakes, (except where prohibited by law) entrants consent to the use of their names, pictures, likenesses, voices, biographical data, and/or any information contained in their entry in advertising, promotion and marketing materials throughout the world, including on the internet, by the Sponsor, its promotional partners, and third party marketing entities, without additional compensation, notice, review, or approval. Sponsor's decisions will be final in all matters, including interpretation of these official rules and awarding of the prizes. DO NOT call Sponsor, as this Sweepstakes will not be discussed by phone, except at Sponsor's sole discretion. All participants, as a condition of entry, agree to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of Sponsor. Failure to comply with these official rules may result in disqualification from this Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify any person it believes has intentionally violated these official rules. Participants further agree to not knowingly damage or cause interruption of the Sweepstakes and/or prevent others from using the Sweepstakes. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void entries of any entrants who Sponsor believes have attempted to tamper with or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of this Sweepstakes. If the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes and award the prizes from among entries received prior to or after the date of the cancellation, modification or suspension. Any person who supplies false information, obtains entries by fraudulent means, or is otherwise determined to be in violation of these official rules in an attempt to obtain any prize will forfeit any prize won and may be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
8. WINNER'S LIST. For a list of winners, send a legal-size, self-addressed, stamped envelope to: The Sun-Times Sports Collectible Convention Sweepstakes, 350 North Orleans, 10th Floor, Chicago, IL 60654. Requests must be received no later than three (3) months following the close of the Sweepstakes.
