MONTGOMERY — Residents in the village now have a new place to search when looking for community information or paying their bills.
The long awaited revised village website will go live Friday.
Volunteers and staff have been working on the project for the past year. Jamie Belongia, assistant to the village manager, said Civic Plus was awarded the final contract for the development of the site at $14,000.
Residents can log onto the site at www.ci.montgomery.il.us
From the landing page, residents can find out what is going on in the city, view agendas and minutes from various meetings or report a problem or concern.
One of the featured new areas allows residents to report a problem with a streetlight or damaged tree.
“They can log on and enter the request and then go back later and see exactly what has happened with their report,” said Debbie Buchanan, executive assistant.
“People can go on at any time of the day and make their requests, they don’t have to wait until village hall is open,” Buchanan said.
