The Bears were in shorts and shells for their last practice of camp in
Bourbonnais, so Jay
Cutler’s performance was even more difficult to quantify than normal. He did throw one notable pick: Tim Jennings intercepted a fade route to Brandon Marshall in the end zone and gleefully returned it the length of the field for a mythical touchdown. But it was an uneventful day for Cutler otherwise.
As he pointed out,
the offense still is in a
rudimentary stage, so it’s difficult to make any
judgments.
‘‘We’re just trying to rep plays and see what they look like,’’ Cutler said after practice. ‘‘We’re not really worried about the defense that we’re going against or trying to pair up a certain play with the defense. There are some plays out there that we’re running that normally you wouldn’t want to run against that coverage or that defense or that front. There’s ups and downs. Some of the plays look good, some of the plays not so good. It’s just dealing with those and coming back and bouncing back for the next play.’’
