MIAMI — The Miami Heat is the perfect team to be down 0-1 in a series. Since the “Big Three’’ came together for the 2010-11 season, the team has started three previous playoff series with a loss and answered with four consecutive victories to end the series. Two came against the Bulls and one in the NBA Finals last season against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“It’s definitely not going to be easy versus this team we’re going against now,’’ Heat star LeBron James said of the San Antonio Spurs. “But we’ve been able to get better. We’ve been able to make adjustments going from one game to the next. We kind of just bounce back after a loss. No matter if it’s on the road or at home, we’ve been able to bounce back.’’
◆Kentucky standout Nerlens Noel is projected as the No. 1 pick for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA draft June 27, but league sources indicated Saturday that Georgetown’s Otto Porter still is a possibility. The Cavs are studying Noel’s medical reports.
◆James put on quite the shooting show for the media Saturday, hitting half-court jumpers with ease.
“He does that all the time,’’ teammate Chris Bosh said. “It’s good B-roll for the TV crews.’’
◆Speculation that Kevin Love is headed to the Bulls after the 2013-14 season could be losing legs, especially with Flip Saunders the new president of basketball operations for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Saunders already told Love he is not being traded.
