Lifelong Chicago White Sox fan Richard M. Daley will be the focus of Comcast SportsNet coverage during Wednesday’s telecast of the Sox-New York Yankees game at U.S. Cellular Field. He will be honored at ‘‘Mayor Daley Night.’’ CSN will show the pregame festivities during which will receive the 2011 Roland Hemond Award for his 22 years as mayor. It might be worth tuning in merely to see Daley’s ceremonial first pitch. He also is scheduled to stop by the broadcast booth to chat with Ken ‘‘Hawk’’ Harrelson and Steve Stone. The pregame shows starts at 6:30 p.m.
The Fire will hold a ‘‘White Party’’ on Thursday at the MCA, 1747 W. Hubbard. The event will feature drinks, hors d’oeuvres, music and gift bags for guests, who are encouraged to wear white. Proceeds from the party will benefit the Chicago Fire Foundation. Information is available at http://chicagofirewhiteparty.eventbrite.com.
