They haven’t started erecting statues of him, so billboards apparently will have to do for Derrick Rose. For now. One went up Wednesday at Michigan and Chestnut, and another is to be unveiled May 23 at Michigan and Wacker.
Such is life when you’re the NBA’s MVP — and you have endorsement deals.
This one is from Powerade, which is giving $25 for every postseason point he scores (minimum $15,000 donation) to the Chicago Park District to restore the basketball courts at Murray Park, where Rose played as a youngster.
He will be at the ground breaking for the courts after the season. Which, Bulls fans hope, will mean sometime in June.
