Dana Leonard is leaving the hardwood for Hollywood.
The former Glenbrook South and Northwestern basketball star is heading to Tinseltown.
‘‘Eighty-degree weather is calling my name,’’ she told Quick Hits during a break in a recent workout at HiFi Fitness.
She’s going to be the next Jessica Alba?
‘‘No, no, no, no,’’ Leonard, 32, said. ‘‘I’m going to be a producer. I’ll be making things happen. Hiring actresses and actors and working with all the big shots out there in Hollywood.’’
Even if she has minimal experience doing so.
‘‘I met a bunch of producers in the Bahamas last year, and they actually hired me to raise some capital for them. Through that I’ve built some really tight relationships. I’m going out there to learn the business.
‘‘I’ve been running basketball camps for the last 10 years since I graduated, so this is something new and exciting.’’
No more camps for her?
‘‘Nope,’’ she said. ‘‘Gave it up. But I still can beat you out on the court one-on-one.’’
Gee, just when Quick Hits was hoping for a Hollywood ending.
