Dale Bowman biography

Outdoors columnist Dale Bowman began his reporting career as a correspondent covering state government for WTAJ-TV in 1982. While in graduate school in 1984, he started covering sports at the Press and Journal in Middletown, Pa. His writing has appeared in dozens of newspapers coast to coast--Seattle Times to St. Petersburg Times--and magazines as diverse as Sports Afield, Outdoor Life, Lake Magazine, Shore, Boating Life and Bowling Magazine. He started at the Sun-Times as a preps stringer in 1991. He began doing the Sun-Times outdoors section on Wednesdays in 1996. Within months, it expanded to a Sunday page, too.
