Larry Narro caught the best northern pike in a November to remember on the Des Plaines River. At about 4:20 p.m. on Nov. 24, the Lemont man boated a 38-inch pike estimated at 16-17 pounds. “This was my fish of a lifetime and landed by hand, no net,’’ Narro e-mailed. “The pike almost tossed me overboard when I took the hook out. It shook very hard and mean.
Narro and his partner caught eight other pike, including one of 30 inches estimated at 10 pounds.Des Plaines River Anglers Association is on Facebook.
