Bob White, a retired
charter captain, shot an 11-point buck in Franklin County during Illinois’ first firearm deer season.
‘‘This is what I got at
6:20 a.m. Friday on opening day,’’ White e-mailed. ‘‘I guess we just have to be lucky at the right time.’’
The buck field-dressed at 225 pounds.
Wind defined Friday and Saturday. Even so, the
Illinois DNR reported a
harvest of 66,501 deer.
