Fish of the Week celebrates fish caught around Chicago or by Chicago fishermen. That means fish caught by local fishermen or from local waters. Can I stretch to Ireland for this northern pike, which was submitted by Kevin Dyra of Itasca? ‘‘I know you normally post local catches, but I thought I would run these pictures by you,’’ Dyra e-mailed. ‘‘My family has just returned from a trip to Ireland. While there, my son John and I did some northern-pike fishing at Lake Derryhick in County Mayo. John caught the pike of the day at almost 40 inches.’’ ‘‘Pike fishing is alive and well in Ireland!’’ Dyra e-mailed. Is Ireland enough of a destination for Chicago fishermen to be considered for Fish of the Week? If you have thoughts or a nomination for FOTW, e-mail
