BUCK OF WEEK: UNPLUGGED
While Ralph Greenslade was out with his oldest daughter, Jamie, and her dog, Hobart, on Wednesday in Blue Star Memorial Woods Forest Preserve in Glenview, the Sun-Timesman caught this shot of “Hobart unplugged and a few deer unplugged, too.’’ It might be my favorite BOTW: Unplugged photo of all time, even if I am not sure if the deer are bucks or does. E-mail nominations for the weekly celebration of live big bucks around Chicago outdoors to email@example.com.
Nearly all Illinois Department of Natural Resources sites in central and northern Illinois were closed or had partial closures after the massive midweek storm. Most looked like they would reopen by now, but check at dnr.illinois.gov and click on “Closure Notices.’’
