Frank Loye landed the only muskie at the 12th annual Ice Out Challenge held Saturday by the Webster Lake Musky Club in Indiana. It was a doozy of 47 inches with a thick girth. He caught it on a figure eight with a Bull Dawg.
“There seemed to be a very brief feeding window right at the start of the tournament,’’ the Logan Square man emailed. “We were moving several fish and then, about 9 a.m., the wind picked up, and temps dropped. A front had definitely moved in, and everything just shut down. We couldn’t get a follow after that.’’
That one fish made champs of the Chicagoland Muskie Hunters chapter of Muskies Inc.: Loye, Joe Pavilonis, Tony Krizek, Jordan Kane and Charles Graham.
