The early start to firearm season in Illinois overlapped with the rut, helping Kevin Skopek and other hunters. The Oak Forest man shot this 16-point, 240-pound buck with a shotgun Nov. 17 in Kendall County.
‘‘It was running after some does in the
morning,’’ he emailed.
Smith’s Taxidermy in Joliet will mount it.
