Over 100 Olympians coming, may boost city's bid

More than 100 American Olympians will gather in Chicago next April ahead of the 2008 Beijing Summer Games in August, officials announced Wednesday.

The athletes will meet for the "Olympic Team Media Summit" to be interviewed by some 400 journalists.

No public events are scheduled for the summit, organized by the United States Olympic Committee. But the Chicago 2016 committee, the group angling for the 2016 Summer Games, says the press event could help in its effort to host the Olympics.
