New Olympic slogan: 'Let Friendship Shine'

Chicago's getting a new Olympic slogan because the old one, "Stir the Soul," sometimes gets lost in translation.
In some languages, it translates to "Stir Your Insides" -- not the most appealing Olympic imagery.
"It didn't have the same meaning or context it would in English," said Patrick Sandusky, a spokesman for Chicago 2016. "We were told that it didn't in fact stir other people's souls."
The new slogan, "Let Friendship Shine," ties in to the themes of friendship already emphasized in Chicago's Olympic bid book. It also fits with the city's Olympic logo, which is built around one of the stars from the city flag.
