Much has been made about Tim Tebow’s religious devotion, so much so that some have suggested the Bronco quarterback’s recent late-game heroics might be divinely inspired.
Lost amid the Tebow Time worshipping was the fact that Marion Barber, the goat of the Bears’ 13-10 overtime loss to the Broncos on Sunday, is also deeply religious.
Barber’s failure to stay inbounds late in regulation time and his fumble in overtime led to the Broncos’ stunning comeback.
The Bears’ running back, who persistently shuns the media, said via Twitter: ‘I WILL REMAIN....STILL IN PRAISE.....(PRAISE THE LORD! LET ALL THAT I AM PRAISE THE LORD......PSALMS 146:1 NLT).....HALLELUYAH’
In a 2007 Sports Illustrated feature, Barber listed Jesus Christ as his childhood hero.
