Rick Morrissey has been a sports columnist at the Sun-Times since December 2009. Before that, he was a columnist at the Chicago Tribune for nine years. He has also worked at the Rocky Mountain News, the Charlotte Observer, the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette and Star Publications in the South Suburbs.
Morrissey has been named an Associated Press Top 10 columnist six times, and has also been recognized for his feature writing and game-story writing.
Morrissey’s book on Ozzie Guillen, “Ozzie’s School of Management” (Times Books), will be released May 22.
He grew up in Oak Park and went to Fenwick High School and Northwestern University. He and his wife, Anne, have three children.
