The Bears had no one listed on their injury report last week. But a big name showed up this week, just a few days before the Vikings come to town.
Cornerback Charles Tillman was limited in practice Wednesday with a knee injury. But it’s not considered serious, and he’s expected to play Sunday against Minnesota at Soldier Field.
“He did do some work, not just in individual [drills] but during team drills,” coach Marc Trestman said. “I just think it’s just precautionary not to give him all the reps, but he was out there working.”
Tillman met the media before the injury report was released. He made no mention of a knee injury, but talked about facing running back Adrian Peterson.
“He’s in a league of his own — another elite player in this game,” Tillman said. “He was definitely the MVP for a reason last year. I think our defense will have our hands full, but he’s a guy that makes you play team football.”
Backup plan
Offensive tackle J’Marcus Webb returns to Chicago for the first time since being cut by the Bears.
Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said he hoped that Webb could develop into a “solid” swing tackle.
“That’s what we’re counting on,” Frazier said.
Frazier joked that the Vikings were still pumping Webb for information on Trestman’s offense.
“I’m not finished,” Frazier said. “We’ve got more questions for him.”
This and that
The Vikings listed four players as limited in practice: defensive tackle Kevin Williams (knee), cornerback Josh Robinson (quadriceps), center John Sullivan (knee) and offensive tackle Phil Loadholt (knee).
◆ The Bears will wear their 1940s throwback uniforms against the Vikings.
