Rising
Corner men: The Bears’ cornerbacks forced three, almost four, turnovers. Charles Tillman had two interceptions, and Tim Jennings forced two fumbles, recovering one.
Forte in history: Matt Forte gained only 50 yards on the ground, but his 27th career rushing touchdown moved him into fifth place in Bears
history.
Blackhawks: The Bears honored the NHL champs, who begin training camp this week. They even brought in Jim Cornelison to sing the national anthem amid raging applause.
Falling
Vontaze Burfict’s feelings: The Bengals linebacker trashed Kyle Adams’ low tackle after Burfict’s fourth-quarter interception. “C’mon now, I’m not looking,” he said. “Are you scared to go up top?”
The Bears’ pass rush: The Bears had only one sack, and that took a bit of luck when the intended receiver fell down and forced Andy Dalton to hesitate.
Martellus Bennett’s flags: The tight end joked he would appeal his two second-half holding calls to the NFL.
