As he assembles a new coaching staff, new Bears coach Marc Trestman said he’ll be bringing some friends with him to Chicago from Montreal.
“There will be some guys coming down south,” Trestman said during his introductory press conference Thursday at Halas Hall.
Candidates are already starting to emerge.
A league source said that Pat Meyer, the Alouettes’ offensive coordinator and offensive line coach, was offered a position by the Bears. The source said also that Andy Bischoff, the Alouettes’ special teams coordinator/running backs coach/administrative assistant to the head coach, is a candidate for the Bears.
Toronto Argonauts head coach Scott Milanovich is another coach to watch, according to the source. He was Trestman’s offensive coordinator in Montreal before leaving for Toronto.
