Ravens’ Matt Birk beats out Bears’ Charles Tillman for NFL Man of the Year award

Charles Tillman was a finalist with San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers . Tillman, whose Cornerstone Foundation benefits chronically and critically ill children in the Chicago area, said on the red carpet before the event that he already felt like a winner. “The foundation is getting all the recognition it needs,” Tillman said. “Whether I win or lose, my foundation wins. I don’t need the award to solidify anything.”

Pats make roster moves
The Patriots cut wide receiver Tiquan Underwood in a move that increases the likelihood veteran receiver Chad Ochocinco will be active for the Super Bowl on Sunday.
