HOT CORNER: Former NFL receiver Terrell Owens was ‘begging’ to play for Clippers

After failing to make a football comeback the last few years, Terrell Owens wanted to take a shot at another league — the NBA.
Clippers forward Blake Griffin told “The Dan Patrick Show” that the ex-NFL receiver was “begging” to play for the Clippers. “He was at our practice facility this summer, begging coaches for a 10-day contract,” Griffin said.
Owens, 39, is not without a resume: He played college basketball for Tennessee-Chattanooga; had a brief tour in the defunct United States Basketball League; and, along with footballers Donovan McNabb and Antonio Gates, defeated retired NBA players Hakeem Olajuwon, Rick Fox and Kenny Smith on an episode of “Pros vs. Joes.”
Who knows? Maybe the Knicks will come calling when Owens turns 40.
