The last few years of Ozzie Guille n ’s White Sox tenure was marred by his battles with GM Ken Williams . Now Ozzie’s going at it with his owner Jeffrey Loria and his closer Heath Bell . Last Friday, Guillen said, “If Jeffrey doesn’t think I’m doing the job I should do . . . it’s not the first time he’s fired a a manager. Look yourself in the mirror and ask why so many [expletive] managers come through here.” Now, Guillen is at war with Bell who told a Miami radio station Monday the Marlins need a manager “that everybody respects and looks up to.” Guillen hit back Monday, saying Bell, who lost the closer job after he had an 8.47 ERA in his first 21 appearances, hadn’t accepted blame for his struggles. “It was my turn this week,” Guillen said Tuesday. “Last week, it was the pitching coach. The week before, it was his teammates. Every week it’s something. That’s why I don’t respect him as a person.” As Guillen ripped Bell during his radio call-in show Tuesday, the Miami Herald says players blasted the volume so Bell could hear.
