Chris Terry, Aaron Palu-
shaj and Brett Sutter each had a goal and an assist, and John Muse stopped all 27 shots he faced to lead the Charlotte Checkers to a 5-0 victory Sunday against the Wolves in American Hockey League
action at Allstate Arena.

After a scoreless first
period, Terry got the Checkers (4-2-0-1) on the board with a power-play goal at 9:28 of the second. Nicolas Blanchard made it 2-0 a little more than four minutes later.

The Checkers then blew the game open in the third. Justin Shugg scored on a power play 31 seconds into the period to make it 3-0 and Palushaj made it 4-0 at 11:11 before Sutter closed the scoring with another power-play goal at 17:33.

The Wolves (3-5-0-1) went 0-for-5 on the power play, and several defensive breakdowns left goalie Jake Allen in some tough spots.

‘‘[Sunday] was disappointing,’’ Wolves coach John
Anderson said. ‘‘I thought we were moving forward, but this was a big step back.’’
