Wolves allow four third-period goals, lose 5-3

Ryan Stoa, Patrick Bordeleau, Luke Walker and Hugh Jessiman scored unanswered goals in the third period, and the Lake Erie Monsters ended the Wolves’ five-game winning streak with a 5-3 victory Saturday at Allstate Arena.

After the teams traded goals in the first period, the Wolves (21-13-1-3) appeared to take control in the second. Mike Davies gave them a 2-1 lead five minutes into the
period, and Steven Rein-
precht made it 3-1 with a short-handed goal at 8:33.

But that was the last time the Wolves scored. Stoa made it 3-2 at 3:19 of the third before Bordeleau tied the score at 9:15. Walker gave the Monsters (17-19-1-1) the lead at 13:09, and Jessiman closed the scoring with an empty-net goal at 19:30.

Jordan Schroeder also scored for the Wolves, and Yann Sauve had two assists.
