NHL HIGHLIGHTS: Nabokov, Sharks stop Blue Jackets
San Jose defenseman Dan Boyle scored the lone goal in a shootout, and Evgeni Nabokov stopped all three Columbus shooters to give the visiting Sharks their sixth straight win, 3-2 over the Blue Jackets on Wednesday night.
Nabokov made 26 saves in regulation and overtime, then stopped attempts by Nikita Filatov, Anton Stralman and Rick Nash in the tiebreaker. The Sharks have won eight of their last nine games.
Tomas Vokoun (31 saves) registered his second straight shutout as the host Panthers extended the Hurricanes' winless streak to 10 games with a 3-0 victory. Third-period goals by Steven Reinprecht, Cory Stillman and Bryan Allen backed Vokoun, who beat St. Louis 4-0 Saturday.

Milan Hejduk had two goals and an assist, and Peter Budaj stopped 28 shots in his first start of the season, leading the host Avalanche to a 4-1 victory over the Coyotes, who will host the Blackhawks tonight.
A senior staff member for Alberta Health Services was fired for giving Calgary Flames players swine flu shots while thousands waited in line for the vaccine last week.
