Mayoral hopefuls all pick Bears

Here are the mayoral candidates’ predictions for Sunday’s Bears-Packers showdown. None of the candidates were foolish enough to tell Chicago voters they thought the Packers would win. They’re not running for mayor of Green Bay. Candidates are listed in the order of swiftness with which they answered.
Gery Chico
Bears: 14
Packers: 10
The former School Board chief did not hesitate a moment before confidently belting out his prediction.
William “Dock” Walls
Bears: 34
Packers: 17
Walls, former aide to Mayor Harold Washington, needed little encouragement to boast how decisively he thought the Bears would acquit themselves Sunday.
Rahm Emanuel
Bears: 24
Packers: 17
President Obama’s former chief of staff smiled and shook his head “No” when asked to give a final score. But with a bit of prodding he overcame his cautious nature and gave his prediction.
Miguel del Valle
Bears: 21
Packers: 14
The city clerk did not welcome the question. “Oh, man, how am I supposed to enjoy the game now? You’re going to have me stressing out about this through the whole game.”
Patricia Van Pelt Watkins
Packers: 14
“I don’t know. I’m not really a sports person,” the community organizer said. She craned her head looking for friends to ask. “Final score of Sunday’s game?” She asked a few. No help. She was on her own.
Carol Moseley Braun

Packers 31
The former senator smiled with a look of almost fear in her eyes. She looked around. “I need to ask somebody.” “You need a lifeline?” she was asked. “I need a lifeline,” she smiled and nodded. About 10 minutes later, she came back with her prediction.
