Gotta hand it to Forte -- or better yet, pass it It's gotten to the point the Bears probably won't solve their running-game woes this season, but that doesn't mean they've run out of effective uses for Matt Forte. He caught a career-high eight passes for 120 yards last week at San Francisco and has 194 yards receiving in the last two games as offensive coordinator Ron Turner finds ways to adjust to a bottled-up ground game.

Silent Bears ready to put up It's time to put up, so the Bears are going to shut up when it comes to the NBC pregame show Sunday night. That's the message coach Lovie Smith delivered.

Bears' Garrett Wolfe is out for the remainder of the season

Running back Garrett Wolfe is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a lacerated kidney.

NFL Week 11 picks Our resident handicapping maven Mark Potash gives you the winners for Week 11 in the NFL. Who will win the Bears' game? Our pick might surprise you!

Angelo: 'I am not alarmed'

Bears general manager Jerry Angelo, the man with the plan, feels your pain. He admires your fanaticism. He shares your obsession.

BEARS IN BRIEF: Kreutz back practicing; streak safe

Veteran center Olin Kreutz returned to practice Thursday and participated fully after missing two days, making it likely he will run his streak of consecutive games started to 112 on Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.

SUN-TIMES EXCLUSIVE Bears put NBC on mute

In a sign of how difficult things have become in the Bears' world, the beleaguered team stunned a network giant Wednesday by rejecting NBC's request for prime-time access to coach Lovie Smith, quarterback Jay Cutler and general manager Jerry Angelo.

6 reasons for Bears' fall

Whether or not the Bears failed Rex Grossman or Rex Grossman failed the Bears, the point is still the same: the Bears haven't had a "franchise" quarterback since Sid Luckman. In fact, the Bears haven't even had an offense that ranks higher than 15th in the NFL in Jerry Angelo's nine seasons as general manager. They've been 26th or lower in seven of his first eight full seasons.

Turner: Cutler's picks unrelated to night games

Bears offensive coordinator Ron Turner said he's not buying the concept of Jay Cutler as a Not Ready For Prime Time Player despite evidence to the contrary.

Cutler makes pitch for Aromashodu

Two weeks ago, the Bears handed Devin Aromashodu a No.11 jersey in practice and asked him to be Larry Fitzgerald.

Word of caution for Cutler: Don't make media your enemy

This is how it happens. You lose. You blow expectations, you get picked apart by fans and analysts.

Taking the good with the bag

Megan Pluister received an unexpected gift for her 23rd birthday -- the promise of Bears tickets.
