As if there aren’t enough divine references surrounding Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow, the miracle worker provided his worshippers a few more on Sunday.
Tebow’s 80-yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas on the first play of overtime stunned the Steelers 29-23 in the AFC wild-card game, but it also gave the Broncos quarterback 316 passing yards for the game, and a playoff-record 31.6 yards per completion.
The significance?
The ultra-religious QB is known for citing scripture, and John 3:16 is his favorite verse, so much so that he wore the numbers on his eye black during the 2009 BCS title game when he was at Florida.
One more eerie coincidence: the Sports Business Journal reported that the TV rating during the final quarter-hour of the game was ... 31.6.
