Dave Toub expected to meet with Dolphins

Mike Martz isn’t the only Bears coach who might not return. Special-teams coordinator Dave Toub is expected to interview for the Miami Dolphins’ head-coaching opening, according to a league source.
Toub, who is not under contract for 2012, also figures to attract interest from other teams as a special-teams coordinator. The Bears have ranked among the best special-teams units in the NFL since Toub was hired in 2004.
‘‘Dave has been here every day I’ve been here, so I think it’s pretty safe to say that I kind of like what he does,’’ Lovie Smith said. ‘‘But I know Dave has goals, too. I know Dave would like to be a head coach, and I hope he has that opportunity some day.’’
