Grading the Bears at Lions

Quarterback: A

Considering the pressure the Lions threw at Jay Cutler (21-for-26, 234 yards, 1 TD, 0 INTs, 4 sacks, 117.0), his performance was just as impressive as against the Eagles. Running backs: B+

Matt Forte (13 carries, 64 yards, 1 TD) ran hard. Chester Taylor (9-33, 1 TD) scored on the Bears' first attempt from the 1-yard line, a big improvement from Week 1. Wide receivers: B

All seven of Earl Bennett's receptions (7-104) went for first downs. Johnny Knox (3-34) was quiet. Devin Hester (1-1) seems to be back in full-time return mode. Offensive line: C

Took a step back in pass protection as J'Marcus Webb and B. Manumaleuna struggled to contain Cliff Avril (3 sacks). But run-game production was encouraging. Defensive line: C

Julius Peppers had a sack and a TFL, but nobody stood out as third-string QB Drew Stanton had a 102.0 rating and the Lions rushed for 134 yards on 27 carries. Linebackers: B-

After Nick Roach went out with a hip injury early, Brian Urlacher played for two -- he finished with 17 tackles. Lance Briggs was second on the team with seven. Defensive backs: C

D.J. Moore was burned on Calvin Johnson's TD but came back with a half-sack, a TFL and a fourth-down pass breakup. Bears lost containment on Jahvid Best's 45-yard run. Special teams: C

Kick coverage was spotty again as Stefan Logan had a 60-yard KO return. Brad Maynard had two punts inside the 5. Hester nearly broke one again. Coaching: B

Bears had a letdown after the big win over the Eagles, but Lovie Smith's sure hand was evident as the Bears kept their poise in key spots to win a division road game.
