The Bears re-signed defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff on Wednesday night, crossing another potential free-agent off their list and helping to shore up one of the team’s main weaknesses last season.

Ratliff appeared in five games for the Bears last season after being released by the Cowboys. He rehabbed a groin injury and, after playing in a game for the first time in about a year, provided the team with a stout presence at both interior tackle spots.

He posted 1 1/2 sacks and 14 1/2 tackles in four starts.

The 32-year-old reached the Pro Bowl four times — from 2008-11 — and earned a first-team All-Pro honor in 2009.

The Bears have signed 10 players that were set to become free agents, the most of any NFL team.
