Super Bowl notebook

LINE OF THE DAY
''It seems like it's only been a couple of minutes since we talked at the hotel [Sunday night at 6],'' Bears coach Lovie Smith said Monday at 3:30. ''Not much has happened since then.''

ENOUGH ALREADY
One theme that has been beaten to death is how the Bears haven't received enough respect all season. Lance Briggs was asked if he was upset with the perception that people don't know much about the Bears.

''No, not as long as they know where to ship the ring,'' he said. ''If they know where to ship the ring, then I don't care.''

PARTY ON
For those heading to Miami, here's a list of some of the top parties scheduled:

•  •  Penthouse's ''Goin' Deep Super Party'' will be held at Mansion nightclub on South Beach and will feature a performance by Snoop Dogg. Tickets are $1,000, but residents of Illinois, Indiana and Florida can get in for $750.

•  •  The Pepsi Smash Super Bowl Bash will be Thursday and Friday and will feature performances by Kanye West, Fergie, John Legend and Aventura. Tickets reportedly are going for up to $200 on stubhub.com.

•  •  Playboy will hold its party at American Airlines Arena, and tickets reportedly were going for as much as $2,000. Chicago's Jeremy Piven was scheduled to be one of the guests.

NEED ONE?
Getting tickets at face value usually is a bargain, at least relatively. But face-value tickets for the Super Bowl are going for $600, and those are the cheaper ones. Some tickets have a face value of $700. But of course, those tickets are impossible to find. A pair of tickets on ebay was going for more than $14,000.

NICE TIP
A few of the Bears receivers went out for dinner Sunday night, and as they were leaving, other patrons gave them a standing ovation.

THE T.O. SPECTRUM
Bernard Berrian might want to attain Terrell Owens' numbers some day, but Berrian doesn't covet the personality.

''I'm on the complete other side of that,'' he said. ''I don't do all the talking and jiving and other nonsense.''

NICE TO MEET YOU
Maybe this no-respect thing the Bears keep harping on is legitimate. While Bernard Berrian sat at a table answering questions from a crowd of reporters, one addressed him as ''Brian.''

Berrian was gracious enough to answer the question and not point out her mistake, which she realized as she walked away.

DUH
Among the items NFL security announced it was prohibiting from the Super Bowl were weapons of any kind, fireworks, Mace and pepper spray.

IN FORCE
WSCR-AM (670) program director Mitch Rosen boasted a full roster of on-air personalities and technical staff in Miami.

''We have 17 people here,'' Rosen said. ''We are bringing the Super Bowl to Chicago via the airwaves.''

WMVP-AM (1000) program director Justin Craig said his station has 15 on site.

Does that include Tom Waddle?

Craig didn't answer, but Waddle admitted he's heading to the local ESPN radio outlet. The time slot remains unknown.

BERRIAN STYLE
Bernard Berrian is known for his fashion sense, especially his hats. His preference is the Fedora.

''If I like something, I get it,'' he said. ''But it depends on the cost. I'm not going to spend just any dollar amount on anything.''

Berrian said he gets his hats made specially by a company based in Los Angeles called LAV.

''It's what I like,'' he said of the style. ''It's just who you are. You don't want to be anything you aren't. Be yourself.''
