Instead of telling people he dislikes the Washington Redskins’ nickname, cartoonist Tom Stiglich decided to show us.

On Thursday, the New York Daily News published his cartoon linking the Nazi flag, the Confederate flag and a banner emblazoned with the Redskins’ logo under the heading, “Archaic Symbols of Pride and Heritage.’’

The cartoon certainly creates a more visceral reaction than the words of President Obama, Bob Costas, members of Congress and representatives of various Native American tribes who have all spoken out against the nickname.

But don’t expect Redskins owner Daniel Snyder to give in any time soon.

In a letter to Redskins fans this month, Snyder said, ‘‘The name was never a label. It was, and continues to be, a badge of honor.’’
