Marcus Vick misses hearing, judge orders arrest

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. — A judge in Virginia has ordered the arrest of Marcus Vick after he missed a court hearing in a civil case.

Vick also missed a hearing in February.

Plaintiff Barbara Ferguson’s attorney, Kris Olin, says Vick signed a $40,000 promissory note in 2008 but hasn’t paid anything.

Olin tells The Roanoke Times that Vick was to appear at a hearing Monday in Montgomery County Circuit Court to explain why he missed the February hearing. He says Judge Brett Geisler ordered Vick’s arrest.

The Carroll County judge was brought in to hear the case.

Vick’s lawyer, Jimmy Turk, referred questions to Olin.

Vick is Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick’s younger brother. He was dropped from the Virginia Tech team in 2006 and the Miami Dolphins released him in 2007.
