Derrick Rose still among top draft prospects
Before the season, we wondered if Derrick Rose is the best freshman basketball player in the nation. It's time to take a look at how Memphis' star from Chicago stacks up against one of the best frosh classes in years.
By all accounts, Rose is enjoying a fantastic season. He's the starting point guard and second-leading scorer for the No. 2 team in the nation.
Still, some see Rose's season as somewhat uneven, and there have been games in which Rose has been turnover-prone.
He's still considered a projected Top 5 draft pick, and could conceivably be Chicago's first No. 1 pick since Mark Aguirre in 1981. But he'll have competition. In Rose's favor is the fact he's a 6-4 pure point guard.
