Joe Cowley became a Sun-Times sports columnist in 2010 after 12 years of covering the White Sox for both the Daily Southtown and the Sun-Times. Cowley also worked at the Lorain Morning Journal/Lake County News Herald as the Ohio State beat writer from 1994 to 1997. He has been a contributor to Sports Illustrated, as well as USA Today. He is the “Sox Insider’’ and a frequent guest host on “The Score” 670-AM.
Cowley was a graduate of Kent State University in 1991, after winning the William Randolph Hearst Award for sports writing in 1990. He is married and has two children.
