Marc Brown scored 25 points, and UIC shot 60 percent to earn an 87-65 victory Wednesday against NAIA Roosevelt at the Pavilion.
Kelsey Barlow added 11 points and five assists and Jake Wiegand nine points for the Flames (1-1), who shot
36-for-60, forced the Lakers (5-1) into 20 turnovers and had a 32-23 edge in rebounds.
Korey Ryan scored 23 points and Joe Harks 15 for Roosevelt, which shot 46 percent (23-for-50) but was overwhelmed by Brown’s speed and quickness.
It was the fourth consecutive season the teams played, with UIC winning all four.
