Northwestern starting quarterback Kain Colter practiced with the team Wednesday after suffering a concussion in the season opener, and he said he plans to play Saturday against Syracuse.
Colter left the game at California after two plays. On Monday, coach Pat Fitzgerald called Colter day-to-day.
The Wildcats practiced in shorts, shoulder pads and helmets Wednesday. Colter took first-team snaps during 11-on-11 drills, indicating he’s likely to play in the home opener (5 p.m., BTN, 1000-AM).
Fitzgerald said he was encouraged by Colter’s participation but wouldn’t say if Colter was cleared to play.
