Loyola joining Missouri Valley Conference

Loyola has accepted an invitation to join the Missouri Valley Conference, school officials said Saturday, adding that they are working out final details.
The Ramblers will join the league on July 1, replacing Creighton, which recently announced it’s leaving for the new Big East.
The Missouri Valley also considered the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Loyola officials told the Chicago Sun-Times the conference was especially interested in adding a Chicago-area school.
