GREEN BAY, Wis. — Alec Brown scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Green Bay closed the game with a 13-4 run to earn a 53-47 victory Saturday against UIC.
Brown was 6-for-13 from the field and 7-for-8 from the free-throw line. Brennan Cougill added nine points for the Phoenix (8-9, 2-2 Horizon League), which has won its last nine home games against the Flames.
Gary Talton led UIC (10-7, 1-3) with 11 points, including three three-pointers.
The Flames led 43-40 with 4:48 left, but a layup by Cougill sparked the game-ending run, which Brown capped with four free throws in the last 10 seconds.
