Undefeated super-middleweight Edwin Rodriguez kept Chicago contender Donovan George at the end of a stiff left jab and ground out a 10-round unanimous decision Saturday night at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Rodriguez (21-0, 14 knockouts) used superior hand speed and work rate to keep George (22-2-1, 19 KOs) at bay. George launched an all-out assault in the 10th round, but was unable to land a telling blow.
Rodriguez got the judges’ nod by scores of 99-91, 97-93 and 96-94. According to PunchStat, he landed 215 of 718 punches. George connected on 156 of 560.
