The Sky’s Elena Delle Donne, the top vote-getter for the WNBA All-Star game, will have to sit out Saturday’s contest because of a concussion.
Delle Donne suffered the concussion in a loss to the Mystics on Wednesday.
Atlanta Dream center Erika de Souza has been named the replacement player for the Eastern Conference.
Delle Donne is the league leader in free throw percentage (93.1) and fourth in points per game (18.2).
Phoenix’s Brittney Griner, who was announced a starter for the Western Conference, will also miss the All-Star game due to a knee injury.
Delle Donne and Griner would have been the first rookies in WNBA history to face off as starters at the WNBA All-Star game.
