What’s with the two guys sitting on the Mavs’ bench drinking beers?

If you happened to see the Mavericks-Pistons game Tuesday night in Auburn Hills, Mich., you might have noticed two fans sandwiched between Delonte West and Vince Carter on what looked like the Mavs’ bench, swilling beers and yucking it up.
You almost thought Mavs coach Rick Carlisle was going to give them some playing time in Dallas’ 100-86 victory over the Pistons.
So, why were they there? Was it some kind of NBA fan promotion, a make-good after the lockout? Were they motorcycle buddies of the enigmatic West? Undercover security guards (remember the Malice in the Palace)?
Nope. None of the above.
The two Pistons fans were actually in their correct VIP seats. It was the overflowing Mavs’ coaching staff and players that were intruding on the spectators.
