IN BRIEF: Thibodeau anticipates almost-full crew tonight
The game against the Indiana Pacers tonight at the United Center is the Bulls' final dress rehearsal before the start of the regular season Wednesday night, and coach Tom Thibodeau is hoping to have his full cast of characters -- with the exception of forward Carlos Boozer, of course -- for the first time this preseason.
The biggest concern is swingman Kyle Korver, who has been sidelined all week because of a cyst in his left ankle.
''I'm feeling a lot better,'' Korver said Thursday after the team's Tip-off Luncheon at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. ''[Wednesday] was probably the first time I've felt like I could go. I worked out [Thursday] morning before this and felt good. I'll practice [this] morning and see how it goes.''
The other issue is the health of starting center Joakim Noah, who didn't play Wednesday in Toronto because of flulike symptoms. Noah didn't attend the luncheon Thursday. Thibodeau is hoping another day of rest will enable Noah to play.
''Then we have to settle on a rotation,'' Thibodeau said. ''That'll be the next step.''Jam job
Derrick Rose is one of the few Bulls who has been healthy throughout the preseason, but he has battled several jammed fingers in recent days.
So how exactly did he hurt the fingers-
''Reaching in. I guess playing more defense,'' Rose said. ''My knuckles are all messed up. At least six fingers are all messed up. I guess that comes from playing in the NBA.''
And from focusing hard on the defensive end, something he didn't always do in his first two seasons. Shoe debut
Adidas has made signature shoes for Rose and the Orlando Magic's Dwight Howard this season. A commercial featuring the two stars began airing this week.
''We did that back in June,'' Rose said. ''All I remember is it was hot.''
The commercial, shot in Los Angeles, also features actor Ken Jeong of ''The Hangover.''
Rose said Adidas has two editions of his shoe. One is available now, and the other will be released during the second half of the season.
